A number of fans fell foul of the parking regulations around the ground on against Lincoln. Having followed up with the Council, we wanted to clarify these ahead of future games (as we understand them). If there are double yellow lines, these also apply to the kerb, grass or other space alongside them as far in as the nearest property. This means that for example, on Barnwell Road as you head up towards the McDonalds roundabout, there are double yellow lines which run either side of the pedestrian crossing. The large grass verge to the left (is up to the hedge) is thus a prohibited parking area so long as you are alongside the lines - so please do not park there. Double yellow lines are in force 24/7 so this will apply to both afternoon and evening games. The Newmarket Road Park & Ride is of course still available and provides a safe and convenient place to park. #CamUTD This evening, we welcome the supporters’, officials and players of both Cambridge United and Rotherham to the Cledara Abbey Stadium. We also welcome the students from Anglia Ruskin University and Cambridge University who are participating in the club’s student initiative. I wish them well with their studies and also hope they enjoy living in this wonderful city.
The article this evening is about how you can get involved with both raising money and awareness for two superb organisations. The first is the British Heart Foundation and the second is Prostrate United The Robert Osbourn Memorial Walk takes place on Saturday 19th October before the home game against Wigan Athletic. The self-guided walk will feature two routes of differing lengths.
The second event is being organised Prostrate United whose aim is to beat Prostrate Cancer a disease that kills a man every 45 minutes. The challenge can involve either walking, running or cycling during October The money raised is going towards improving prostate cancer research, the support and help men living with the disease are currently receiving.” Depending on which works best for you, you can choose which daily challenge and distance to do:
If you choose to do both or one of these challenges you will be helping to make a difference to someone’s life If you have any questions, please contact me or check out
This afternoon we would like to welcome the player, supporters and officials of Lincoln City to the Abbey Stadium. We also like to welcome all the families coming to the game for their first time.
Today, is the clubs Kids Take Over match. We hope those involved enjoy the occasion and remember it for years to come. I would also like to thank all the staff for enabling the event. It is so important to create magical moments and experiences whenever we can. Sometimes it is easier not to do something, than it is to do something special. Imagine 8,000 fans sat in our stadium today, 170 of them could get melanoma skin cancer in their lifetime. That could be someone sitting beside you or someone standing next to you in the Habbin or Newmarket Road End. These are the stark facts about melanoma, the 5th most common cancer in the UK and the deadliest form of skin cancer. Yet, nearly 9 in 10 cases are preventable by staying safe in the sun and avoiding sunbeds. This highly preventable cancer kills over 2,300 people in the UK every year. Knowing the signs of melanoma could save your life. If you notice a new or a changing mole or lesion or something that simply looks odd or seems different to your other moles or lesions, then contact your GP. If a melanoma is caught early, you are unlikely to have any other symptoms or feel unwell and most people can be cured. We recommend checking your skin and nails once a month and if you have any concerns to contact your GP. As we start to cover up more throughout the colder months, it is vital that you make time for your skin checks. Remember, if in doubt check it out! If you have been affected by melanoma and would like to help raise awareness, please get in touch: [email protected] Melanoma Focus is a national UK charity dedicated to supporting patients and healthcare professionals as well as raising vital awareness, to learn more or access their support, visit melanomafocus.org Enjoy match and be Loud, Proud and United |
