The ground can be found from Cambridge via A14 and A45 to Northampton.

Fans will be traveling in on the ring road and need to stay on the ring road following the signs for Sixfields.

This will take them round the town and the ground will pop up on your right - there are car parks on the approach to the ground, all of which charge a nominal fee.

There are a number of restaurants and bars on the Sixfields site - TGI Fridays cater for visiting supporters.

Northampton Town Football Club have negotiated with English Partnerships (who own the North and South car parks) a continuation of the use of the current North and South car parks, and have achieved an operating licence for their use. Unfortunately this has been at a cost, therefore the club will need to recoup its costs via a small charge.

Northampton Town Football Club would therefore like to inform all supporters that supporters using the North or the non-tarmac South car parks at Sixfields will be required to pay £4.00 to park their car at all matches. The income from these car parks will be received by Northampton Town Football Club.
All cars are parked at the owner's risk at all times and the club shall not be liable for any loss or damage, howsoever caused.
We strongly advise against parking anywhere other than in the official car parks. If you are parking anywhere else, please be respectful of local residents and businesses and park considerately. Parking enforcement officers regularly patrol the roads around the local area and do ticket cars as necessary.

Selected bus routes offer subsidised travel to and from Sixfields on a matchday upon production of a valid match ticket or season ticket (print at home does not qualify.) Please contact your chosen bus provider for confirmation of reduced fare.

Tickets that have been purchased and are to be collected at the ground can be collected at the portacabin situated by the away end from 1300 hours on matchday.

More standing trials needed says Government report

Research commissioned by the Government looking into possible reform of the all-seater legislation has concluded that more trials of standing areas in the top-flight are needed.

The review into standing at football was launched back in June 2018 by then Sports Minister Tracey Crouch following a summer of intense campaigning from supporters – culminating in a Government petition signed by more than 112,000 fans.

Published on Thursday evening, the report led by Dr Jo Welford at CFE Research, says: “Any change to current policy must be based on robust evidence that such a change would ensure equivalent or improved spectator safety.”

Dr Welford’s report recommends monitoring further trials of different standing areas to provide further evidence.
