AN v FAT Football is coming to Cambridge

MAN v FAT Football – an FA-endorsed 14 week football league exclusively for the 56% of UK men who are overweight or obese launches in Cambridge from 8th January 2018

The MAN v FAT Football scheme is for the very first time available in Cambridge. Local men who want to tackle their weight issues now have the chance to join this incredibly successful weight loss league. With 95% of players losing weight and some players losing up to 70lbs during the 14 week league, it’s no wonder that the Football Association have officially endorsed the leagues.

Set up by Andrew Shanahan who himself lost five stone and was fed-up with weight loss classes just for women, MAN v FAT combines football with easy to follow diet and lifestyle advice as well as 24/7 online and offline support. There’s the traditional weigh-ins before each game, but this is then followed-up by a 30 minute game of six-a-side football. Extra goal bonuses are awarded depending on the pounds lost by the players, so it becomes a real team effort.  Click here for more info  or /www.cuctrust.co.uk/health/man-v-fat-football/

Members of the U's Futsal First Team squad, along with coach Luis Mendonca, will be available to meet & greet U's fans around the ground before, during & after this Saturday's home football match v Accrington Stanley.

They will be answering any questions you may have regarding Futsal. In particular they are promoting their next home fixture (the first of 3 in November) which is taken place the next day on Sunday 12th November indoors at the fantastic University of Cambridge Sports Centre, Philippa Fawcett Drive (off Madingley Rd), Cambridge CB3 0AS.

Their opponents are last years Super League champions, London Helvecia, a team full of international and England national Futsal players who are one of the favourites for this season's inaugural FA National Futsal Super League.

The match is being filmed and live streamed to a global audience by The Daily Futsal (& World Futsal League) channels so all are encouraged to attend, fill the 400 tiered seating and make some noise in support of the U's.

....and entry is FREE!

CFU’S OPEN MEETING FOR SUPPORTERS 11th November

The Abbey Arms will be the venue for Cambridge Fans United’s latest meeting with fans trust Board members and Cambridge United staff, at 5.15pm, on the 11th November.

The meeting will be relatively informal and will provide CFU members and fans generally with an opportunity to meet with representatives of the fans trust and to ask questions on the its activities and plans.

Dave Matthews-Jones, the Fans Elected Director and the football club’s Supporters Liaison Officer, will provide an update on work around the ground to improve the matchday experience for home and away supporters.

Robert Osbourn, Chair of CFU’s Trust Board will be available to answer questions on the work of the trust

Also invited to take part are
Ben Strang, CUFC’s Head of Football Operations,
Andy Pickard, Club Safety Officer
Dave Doggett, Club Chairman.

Other staff may also pop in, if they are available.

So, if you would like to know how many pots of paint have been used, so far, in the sprucing up of the Cambs Glass Stadium; why the CFU caravan has taken up a new location on matchdays; the reasons behind the closing of the Habbin / NRE gate; how the player scouting system operates or how much time the chairman spends at the club each week, then do come along and take part.
