Dave Doggett believes the time was right for Cambridge United to draw a line under Richard Money's reign as manager as the club attempt to continue the progression he helped kickstart
The United chairman said he will always have happy memories from Money's three-year spell in charge, which came to an end on Monday, and hopes to welcome him and his wife Sarah back for a match in the near future.
But the responsibility of the board to ensure the club keep moving forward meant the decision to part company with the boss had to be taken."He definitely entertained us in so many ways over three years, and they're the great memories the fans will have," said Doggett.
