Joe Dunne said he understands the desire from Cambridge United fans to see Dave Amoo start after the winger's string of impressive appearances from the bench over the past couple of weeks.
Amoo has made positive contribution as a substitute over both of Dunne’s games in interim charge of the club – most recently assisting George Maris for the U’s third goal against Grimsby Town at the weekend.
It has been a stop-start season for the winger though, with injury problems blighting his progress after a few false dawns.
Indeed, before his appearance against Chesterfield, the former Liverpool youngster had not featured since his five minute cameo as a substitute against Manfield, which ended in him having to be replaced after another injury.
