Cambridge United and Cambridge Fans United relaunch Lottery

The club have today relaunched the official CUFC Lottery in conjunction with Cambridge Fans United, which gives supporters the chance to win two exciting cash prizes, up to a whopping £2,500 weekly jackpot!

Supporters can sign up for just £2 a week and enter their name to win the weekly cash prize which gives supporters the chance to win up to £500, as well as the weekly accumulator jackpot that can rollover up to £2,500.

Those signed up will receive their four digit number and if all four digits match either of the numbers drawn from the weekly draw or the weekly accumulator, the cash prizes are won. Meanwhile if two numbers match in the correct order then supporters will win a consolation £10.

With lottery memberships capped at 5,000, United supporter’s chances of winning the CUFC lottery are far greater than most other lottery prize funds, so what are you waiting for?

As well as entering their name into the draw to win a number of weekly cash prizes, those signed up to the CUFC Lottery will also pledge their support towards a number of extremely worthy causes, including CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) and the club itself.

A significant portion of weekly entries will be fed directly back into the club, with the funds earmarked by Chairman Dave Doggett towards improving the long and short-term fan experience for supporters at the Abbey Stadium.

The relaunched CUFC Lottery will now support local charity CRY, which has been working to reduce the frequency of sudden cardiac death, an issue that can be particularly prevalent in football. Patrons of the charity include five time Olympic rowing gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, with more information about the charity available at www.c-r-y.org.uk.

Previously contributions from the lottery have been made to the Addenbrookes charitable Trust, in particular the Rosie who continue to deliver state-of-the-art facilities, specialist staff, extra comforts and research.

Whilst Cambridge Fans United through its Lottery fund have also pledged money towards the Rowan Humberstone, a Cambridge based charity and arts centre that brings artists and learning-disabled people together in the production of fine artwork and crafts; while providing opportunities for self-expression and creative exploration.

Commenting on the re-launch, Cambridge United Chairman Dave Doggett said: “Cambridge Fans United is an integral part of our club and have made regular contributions both financially and through manpower to the club.

“The lottery is an opportunity for all supporters to win cash prizes whilst at the same time helping the club grow. Profits will go towards improving the fans experience in both the short and longer term.

“If the Sporting Village gets the go ahead at Trumpington we will begin to modernise the Abbey Stadium, and by joining the Lottery supporters can help the club continue to move forwards.”

Cambridge Fans United Chairman Dave Matthew-Jones added: "Cambridge Fans United are now Building for the Future. The re-development of the Abbey Stadium is at the forefront of the supporter group’s agenda now.

“We are determined that in the future the stadium is developed to ensure supporters have the highest standard of facilities possible. Everyone who joins the lottery will be helping us to achieve that target and also help the club carry on progressing both on and off the field"

Meanwhile Lottery Treasurer Brian Thorby said: “We are delighted with this exciting development for the lottery and the reinvested support of the club.

“As the official lottery of Cambridge United, it gives supporters not only a chance to win some great cash prizes but also pledge their support towards an extremely worthy cause within our local community, as well as exciting developments for those that visit the club in future.”
