Some useful information for Cambridge United fans going to the SkyBet League Two match at Accrington Stanley on Tuesday 21st February.
By car The postcode for the Wham Stadium is BB5 5BX. A sat nav will lead you to the ground. Please be aware that there is no parking for fans at the Stadium but there is plenty of on- street parking on the streets around the ground. Please park responsibly. A limited number of disabled car parking spaces are available to away fans by ringing the club, at least 24 hours beforehand, on 01254 356950. Directions to the Wham Stadium. From the M65 Leave the M65 at Junction 7, taking the Clitheroe turn off the roundabout. Turn right at the first set of traffic lights opposite Clayton Business Park, following the A678. Follow the road over the canal bridge to the next set of traffic lights. Turn right again going over the motorway bridge and towards Accrington on the A680. Carry straight on at the next set of lights with the Greyhound pub on your right. Follow the road as it bends to the right and then take the first left after the Crown pub into Livingstone Road. From the M66 At the end of the M66 follow the A56 until you come to the Rising Bridge roundabout. Take the first turning, the A680 towards Accrington for around 3 miles. Follow the ring road dual carriageway around the town centre. At the fourth set of lights, opposite the Castle pub, turn right to rejoin the A680. Follow this road up the hill for approximately 1 mile, Livingstone Road is approx 400 yards past Accrington Victoria Hospital on the right. Coach Parking Visiting coaches are advised to park on Livingstone Road adjacent to the Away fans’ entrance . Coaches will be asked to pass the ground, turn around at the bottom of Livingstone Rd, and park on the right hand side. By Rail Accrington railway station is approx a 20 min walk from the ground. The journey time is approximately 4hr 20 mins changing at Stevenage and Leeds or Peterborough, Grantham and Leeds. Leaving Cambridge at 1356, 1401, 1455 arriving in Accrington at 1820, 1820 & 1920 respectively. There are no return trains back to Cambridge that evening after the match. Directions from the station Leave the station following the railway viaduct down to the main roundabout and head up the hill past the Aldi supermarket on your left, at the top of the hill turn left (Whalley Road) follow this road uphill and through the traffic lights at the hospital. After the mini roundabout, Livingstone Road is the next right turn down Livingstone Road and the ground is on your left. A ticket office can be found to the left of the away turnstiles. Please note that only cash can be used to buy tickets on the night. Admission is by ticket only and tickets cost: Adults £20, Over 65s £15, Students with ID £15, Under 18s £15, Under 12s £10. Supporters can be searched prior to entering the stadium. Thorough searches will be carried out by ASFC stewards at the turnstiles. Any supporters found with prohibited items in their possession may be arrested. Copies of the Ground Regulations are displayed at the turnstiles and can be found online at www.accringtonstanley.co.uk Away supporters are accommodated on the coppice terrace, which does not have a roof and seats in the Whinney Hill stand. Prices are the same to stand or sit. Disabled supporters in wheelchairs are accommodated in the main stand. This is not with the away supporters but is undercover and close to the away accommodation. Supporters with Medium and High disability who require a carer, pay the full price whilst the carer is free. There are concessions in the away end (Coppice Terrace and Whinney Hill seating) for visiting supporters supplying hot and cold drinks including alcohol. Please be aware there are no cash machines at the stadium or facilities to use debit or credit cards. There are pubs that welcome away fans close to the ground, in the town centre and on the way from the town centre to the stadium. The Crown Pub is the nearest, located just 50 yards from the ground and serves food. Lost property Any property found within the stadium will be held at reception.
