Dear Cambridge United Fans,
During the last few years we have discussed within the CFU committee about the completing another football kit collection for charity. This has been done in the past with a donations made to a school in Africa, organised by Joy Childs. We have made contact with an appeal from the Royal Air Force who have since 2006 collected unwanted football kits, which have been have been donated across the world. “The Appeal has been running since 2006 delivering over 172000 items of football kit to 53 countries worldwide. During 2016 the Appeal made a total of 26 deliveries across the world with the vast majority going to Kenya in preparation of the team delivery visit which took place in October and delivered over 15000 items to 53 different clubs and schools. In total 22794 items were delivered worldwide in 2016 including 6293 football shirts. Items were delivered to Kenya, Nepal, Cuba, Cameroon, Zambia, South Korea, Uganda, Belarus, Romania, Nigeria, Brazil and Mexico.” Please read more about this appeal in the link below: https://www.raf.mod.uk/rafshawbury/newsweather/index.cfm?storyid=F4044816-5056-A318-A8F356B5E576D3D9 Over the next two months (end date 31st October) we would like to collect as many unwanted football kits to donate to this great appeal. As part of the global football family we want to show that caring for others is part of the DNA of Cambridge Utd! Please hand any cleaned football kits to the CFU team in the Caravan at a match day or the club shop during the week. United in Endeavour!
