Today, saw a great deal of work going on with the construction of the stage. In addition to that activity there were other maintenance works taking place by everyone.
Below, the photos show some of the work carried out today. Every space is being used on Sunday to guarantee the smooth running of the show. The programme hut was cleared to allow it to become the resource assembly location. The tables in the Abbey Arms needed to be moved to the areas being used as dressing rooms as were all the fold up tables we could source at the Abbey. The accessible access at the south stand was cleared for there to be a clear pathway. There was no problem with access as during the season it is tended to regularly, however while clearing areas nearby we cleared either side again to make absolutely sure. Ian and Paul Harrison cut the grass on the area that is still uncovered. The grass isnyoung and growing quickly in that area. We also washed down all the turnstiles following last weeks sweep and clearing of rubbinsh in those areas. During the next few weeks we will be carrying out maintenance work on the roof of the Newmarket Road turnstiles to stop a leak. We will also be looking to remove any unused furniture in the turnstiles and reapir the dripping guttering at the Newmarket Road turnstiles.
