She doesn’t understand me is an expression I have heard used many times in my life by others.
When I got up yesterday morning my wife said whatever are you doing. It is a Saturday.
Yes, but it is a football Saturday. I tried to think quickly for a reason why I was looking out of the window at 3.30am and one that wasn’t a football related reason. Could I get away with saying I had heard a noise outside?
When I woke again at 5.30 and looked out of the window I said I thought I would turn the heating on.
Neither excuse was true. I was really looking to see if the Beast from the East had called and delivered its snow.
Would it take a another huge effort to clear the pitch if a lot of snow had fallen? Would we be going in early to do the work?
Fortunately, it hadn’t done so, the now had come this time and there was no early start needed for me to be preparing the pitch.
But it becomes a challenge and you want to do everything you can to avoid seeing Cambridge United P v P Swindon Town in the lists. You want to get through the season without a postponement
I don’t think she will ever understand that one.
