Not Long Now Till Kick Off

The shirt is hanging proudly on it's hanger. The season ticket is safely tucked away in the draw. It's not long now until the season starts. Anticipation and expectancy is racing towards Saturday’s home match against Newport.

Will this be a season of ecstasy or one that ends up disappointing? Every supporter across the country will have expectations, but only a few will savour the glory.

Richard Money has assembled a squad of experience, talent and quality. The side that returned the U's to the Football League has now mostly broken up and moved onto pastures new. The pre-season friendlies and training is complete

The backbone of the side for this season is strong Roberts- Legge at the back. Keane - Berry in midfield, Corr up front. 

Newton, Hughes, Donaldson, Dunk, Slew and others to slot in around those players. But will that be the starting eleven who knows. The options this season are plenty with players able to switch positions and formations. The squad has strength in depth.

Will the team play 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 at home switching to 5 at the back when we are away or more physical sides. What do you think?

The coming season is one that certainly offers so much. The journey begins on Saturday against Newport. Three points would be a perfect start and make it a hat trick of opening day home wins
