One thing that wasn't mentioned yesterday was all the work needed to get the game on outside getting the pitch ready.
Paul Burling and the hospitality team were on tender hooks waiting for the match to be agreed. The tea bars needed getting ready and and all the hospitality food commenced. Staff all hand to come in. One thing that will carry over to Monday are the frozen pipes that needed urgent repairs be done. Dave Mills worked hard around the ground carrying out emergency work. There are still some pipes to be permanently repaired and leaving yesterday some were still blocked and needed thawing. The stewards, medical staff and police all needed to be in position on the day. Andy Pickard did a great job over the past few days planning for the mattch, then making changes and re-arrangements in the days leading up to the match. Bill Ball and the team of turnstile operators who had to deal with issues around the ground. The stands and car parks were cleared of snow. Seats were wiped down and pedestrian areas cleared and made safe. Programmes needed to be delivered and sold by the sellers on the day. Dave Barber came for London and others did not know they were required until the very last minute came in Everyone in the ticket office and shop who had to get all the sales and queries dealt with on the day. All the calls asking if the match is still on were dealt with. A great team effort by everyone yesterday and an amazing amount of work done during the past few days. A real eye opener watching everyone going that extra mile It was also nice to hear not only the appreciation from home supporters but also Luton supporters that the match was on. If I have missed anyone. I am sorry, it is not intentional and I apologise in advance for doing so. Comments are closed.
