Dave Matthews-Jones
Welcome to Cambridge United. I am the Supporters Liaison Officer at Cambridge United as well as being on the club board.
I have supported the club since 1970. During those times I have seen some great times, promotions, cup matches, visits to both Wembley and the Millennium Stadium. I was originally a member of the CUSA (Cambridge United Supporters Association) in the 1990's and a founding member of Cambridge Fans United (CFU) in 2000. I was Chair of CFU for much of that time until 2016, when I became Fans Elected Director.
Matchday
Since becoming SLO (read about the SLO role here) one of my aims has been to improve supporter facilities and the matchday experience at Cambridge United.
In addition to the information provided by the club to assist those supporters coming to matches at the Cledara Abbey Stadium, I have produced matchday FAQ's, which provide additional information concerning the club, stadium and the matchday experience.
Please follow the link here to find out more.
There is also some further information, advice and opportunities to provide feedback. I really do want to hear your views and feedback.
Match days - I can be found around the stadium or contacted via my mobile 07703 274034. The Abbey Helpers will also assist in answering any questions or help to contact me.
Non matchdays - Contact me by using the following methods -
email [email protected] or [email protected]
For the full list of club contact details see www.cambridgeunited.com/club/contact-us
We receive two mystery shopper visits each season. One between August and December and a second between the New Year and end of the season.
These visits are arranged by the Fan Experience Company on behalf of the EFL. The purpose of these visits is to improve the match day experience for supporters and make clubs more welcoming for families.
ENJOY THE MATCH
Supporter Representation -
As SLO I also help build bridges between the football club and its fans. My role is to help facilitate fan engagement structures, advocate for the fans’ voice within the club, liaise with stewards, police, and counterparts at opposition clubs.
The club and all clubs are measured for their Fan Engagement by the Fans Insight Company, see the link Think Fan Engagement below
