HOW TO GET TO BRISBANE ROAD STADIUM
BY RAIL
There is a national train strike on the day of the match
London Underground:
The nearest London Underground station to the stadium is Leyton, which is located on the Central (red) line. It is just one stop from Stratford, which has connections to the Jubilee line, TFL Rail, Docklands Light Railway, London Overground and various National Rail Services.
Leyton is an 11 minute journey by Tube from London Liverpool Street and is also easily accessible from other London mainline stations such as Kings Cross St Pancras, Euston, Waterloo, Victoria and Paddington. Click here to visit Transport for London’s Journey Planner.
Walking to Brisbane Road will take less than 10 minutes. Upon exit from the station turn right out of the station and follow Leyton High Road for approximately 450 metres until Coronation Gardens is on your left. Turn down Buckingham Road after the park and the ground will be in front of you.
London Overground:
Leyton Midland Road is approximately a 15 minute walk from the stadium. From Leyton Midland Road, turn left towards Leyton and continue down the High Road past Leyton County Cricket Ground until you reach Osborne Road. Turn down Osborne Road and the East Stand is in front of you.
BY CAR:
For satnavs please use the postcode E10 5NF
Parking:
Please note there is no public parking available at Brisbane Road. Being located in a highly residential area, there is also extremely limited parking in the immediate area around the stadium. Many surrounding roads are for permit holders only and there are limited parking options elsewhere. If you do intend to drive to the match, please take care to avoid penalty fines when parking by reading signage and by not blocking local residents.
BY BUS:
Bus no’s. 58, 69, 97 and 158 run along Leyton High Road. Please click here for further route information from Transport for London.
BY FOOT:
We all know that we need to get at least 30 minutes of exercise a day to keep healthy, so why not save some cash on public transport and walk to the game? For a personalised walking route from your home to Brisbane Road please visit www.walkit.com.
CYCLING:
Why not avoid the crowds and queues by cycling to the match? Brisbane Road is fully accessible by bicycle and with Waltham Forest being part of the Mini Holland Scheme, it has an extensive and growing cycle network, focusing on quiet streets and traffic-free paths. Three miles is an easy cycle ride which will take most people around 20 minutes and with Walthamstow, Stratford and Hackney all being under this distance, it’s easier than you think. To plan a cycle route, please click here.
Once you arrive at Brisbane Road, there is a range of cycle parking available around the stadium provided by Mini Holland who have installed a large number of bike racks outside the Score Centre, opposite the Justin Edinburgh Stand where the Club Superstore and Ticket Office is located.
Visiting away fans are house in the southern part of the Green Inc East Stand, accessible through Entrance D on a match day. There is capacity for just over 1,500 away supporters, including wheelchair-using fans and includes toilet and refreshment facilities.
The East Stand is the oldest still in use at the stadium and first opened in 1956 following the Club’s promotion to Division Two. Formerly home to the dressing rooms and club offices prior to the construction of the Justin Edinburgh Stand, you can get a sense of real history from sitting in this stand. Today it is also home to Leyton Orient Trust’s ‘Fans for Diversity’ hub, a former players lounge which caters for community groups on a match day.
Here are plenty of things to occupy your time before the game kicks off
Buy our Match Day Programme
A must-read before every home game, the ‘Orient’ matchday programme is available to purchase around the ground for just £3.50.
It’s unique to every match and features 60-pages of exclusive content catering for home and away supporters, including interviews with key staff and players, the latest club news, fun features, junior pages and much more.
Have a drink in the Leyton Orient Supporters Club
Also located on Oliver Road, next to our Main Reception, is the Leyton Orient Supporters Club. Entry is free to members or £1 for non-members and it’s a great place to enjoy a friendly pre-match drink with the family.
As well as a full range of wines and spirits, the Club serves an award-winning range of real beers from all over the country, having achieved special recognition from CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale). For many visiting supporters who leave E10 pointless, the highlight of their trip is often the Supporters Club!
Things to do
Coronation Gardens is adjacent to the south side of Brisbane Road. It includes a maze, ornamental gardens, fountain, bandstand. Most importantly though it’s home to a 2.2m high statue of Laurie Cunningham. A true pioneer, Laurie made his debut for Orient in 1974 before going on to represent West Bromwich Albion and Spanish giants Real Madrid, as well as becoming one of the first black players to play for the England senior team. Sadly, Laurie’s life was cut far too short when, aged 33, he died in a car accident in Spain in 1989, but his legacy continues to inspire us all.
The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is free to visit every day of the week and is home to a number of stadia from the London 2012 Olympic Games, as well as parklands, waterways, playgrounds and cafes. You can ride the slide at the Arcelormittal Orbit, swim in the pools of champions or watch a whole host of different sporting events at The Copper Box Arena. Visit www.queenelizabetholympicpark.co.uk.
